Back At It

 Here we go.

Today I dove back into my short story collection and began to revise. Editing is a love-hate event. Going over your initial work and making corrections may seem like a personal insult. On the contrary it's liberating, enlightening, and an exercise of acceptance. Acceptance that you are not as good as you think you are on the first go.

That's what writing is. A dump of the mind and soul only to be reviewed, modified, tweaked and brought to a level that was never the intention of the initial birth.

I have a personal goal of a minimum of 500 words a day. Ideally that is 500 words of new creative flows. To day I achieved that through my story editing and writing this blog post.

Write to write. It's neither right or wrong. As long as you are writing that's all that matters. 99.9% of what you write will never reach the public eye nor should it. Do you think every musician releases every note that create through their instruments? No, of course not. They practice and practice to work toward the final product. Writing is the same art. Write to practice, create to expand, and produce to make money.
